If you could host a dinner and anyone you invite was sure to come, who would you invite?
If I could invite my grandparents that would be great.
Of course I would be hosting 4 ghosts to start with. Maybe my grandparents could invite other ghost relatives to come with them.
It would be more than a dinner. This event would also be a ghostly family reunion.
I want my living relatives to be there. I want living friends who are like family to me; to attend.
It would be a wonderful day at a park. We would spend the day hugging and taking walks hand and hand on the park’s nature trails.
My grandpa would finally get to meet my husband and our daughter.
There are so many things that I want to say to my grandparents that were left unsaid. We would hug more. I would listen better. “I love yous” would be exchanged.
This day would be life changing. Reconciliations would occur face to face. The only tears would be tears of joy.
At dinnertime, everyone would join hands in a circle. Everyone would sing the Johnnie Appleseed prayer before our meal
There would be many expressions of gratitude for this second chance to celebrate; all of our important relationships.
Remember to appreciate everyone who has been part of your life. There are no second chances.
